We begin at the lake! Passing through Toronto’s vibrant waterfront, our cordial guide will point out the world-class Rogers Centre stadium and soaring CN Tower. We’ll view the Toronto Islands (featuring the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes) from the Yonge Street/Queen’s Quay vantage point. On Queen’s Quay, we point out the Redpath Sugar Refinery, a testament to Toronto’s industrial past. We stop at Sugar Beach, a whimsical urban beach park, on our way to the Distillery District, where we stroll historic buildings now transformed into a cultural and entertainment hotspot. Onwards to Old Town’s St. Lawrence Market for a walkabout in one of the world’s top food markets. We take a look at the quirky Flatiron Building before hitting Yonge Street, passing the Eaton Centre shopping mecca en route to City Hall famed for its ultra-modern curves. Time for a selfie at the 3D illuminated TORONTO sign.
Our next circuit takes us by Osgoode Hall, Four Seasons Centre, and Queen’s Park, home of Ontario’s government. We pass the impressive grounds of University of Toronto, as well as Bata Shoe Museum and Gooderham mansion. Next on view are Varsity Stadium, Koerner Hall, and Royal Conservatory of Music, plus the opulent Royal Ontario Museum, crossing over to Yorkville’s upscale shopping enclave. Toronto’s majestic Casa Loma is a must-do photo stop then bustling Chinatown and Kensington Market are next. We complete our tour viewing AGO’s intriguing architecture and cutting-edge design of OCAD.
